The City of Warrenton is very proud of our police officers, staff, and volunteers. As you can see below, the WPD has a combined total years of expertise and experience of 169 years!  Add in my experience and our total is 202 years!

Jim Pierce, Sergeant

41 years in law enforcement,  12 years with the WPD
Promoted to Sergeant on February 14, 2017, retired from the Oregon State Police, previously Police Sergeant with the WPD in 1988, Reserve Officer for one month then hired as a full-time officer.

Led WPD in DUII enforcement in 2014 and 2015. In one of our Field Training Officers.

Started as a Reserve Officer in 1997, took a break to work for OYA then was hired full-time in 2013. He is a Firearms Instructor, OC and Less-Lethal Instructor, and a Field Training Officer.

WHS Alumni and very active in the community and leads the department in traffic stats. He is also a Field Training Officer.

Christina Trujillo, Police Officer

Ofc. Trujillo is new to law enforcement, but not the criminal justice system as she was previously employed at the Naselle Youth Camp in Washington. She has a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Portland State University and is from Astoria.

Dan Carpenter, Detective

Ofc. Carpenter is an Army veteran and started his career in Law Enforcement in New York State and was hired in January 2020. After taking a 1.5-year break he was rehired in October 2022. He currently is assigned as our Detective.

Used to serve as the Warrenton Municipal Court Clerk in the 1980's & 1990's and is in that position again.
